Topic Resources
The Children’s Epilepsy in West Yorkshire infographic was designed with non clinical staff and decision makers in mind to help demonstrate the collaborative efforts happening across West Yorkshire to improve the care of children, young people and families living with epilepsy. The infographic covers the following areas: mental health and wellbeing support, considerations for those who have another condition such as autism, ensuring those who live in the most deprived areas access the same level of care as those in the least deprived, reducing emergency hospital visits, ensuring schools understand the needs and make reasonable adjustments for those with epilepsy (School Individual Healthcare Plans), ensuring equity of access to specialist services for those from ethnic minority backgrounds and having cultural competency when providing services, supporting and enhancing communication between families and clinical teams to gain faster, more accurate diagnosis through digital technology (vCreate).
