SMS Share Function
The SMS Share Function on the Healthier Together website is provided by Text Local. Frank Design Ltd is provided with a client account that provides the telephone number, delivery status and content of the messages sent in the form of delivery reports. These delivery reports are kept in the account for 12 months before being automatically removed, and are not used for any other purpose than to check if a message delivery issue has been reported. The data is stored securely at Amazon Web Services, London UK.
Please note: NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board do not collect any personal information from the use of this function. The SMS Share Function is designed to be used only by healthcare professionals to electronically provide parents and young people with information after a face-to-face or telephone consultation and where the permission of the intended recipient has been sought. We cannot accept responsibility or liability for anyone who uses this function for anything other than its intended use.
SMS Share Privacy Notice
Data Controller: NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board.
Purpose: The SMS Share function allows clinicians to share a link, to a specific page of the Healthier Together website, with their patient following a consultation, so the patient can receive relevant health related information quickly and easily.
Lawful basis: Article 6 1 (e) of the GDPR: processing is necessary for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest or in the exercise of official authority vested in the controller. (clinician use only). Any user of the SMS Share functionality must have the permission of the intended recipient of the text message.
Type of information used: Personal data: mobile phone number.
Who we will share the information with (recipients): The SMS Share function provider (Textlocal) retains delivery reports that contain the mobile phone number the message was sent to, and if the message was delivered successfully or not. These delivery reports are, if required for the purposes of investigating text message delivery issues, accessible to Frank Design Ltd. This information is not shared with the Integrated Care Board.
Do we use any processors: Frank Design, Website developer, Textlocal, SMS Share provider.
How we collect (the source) and use the information: Your mobile phone number is inputted into the SMS Share function by your clinician.
How long we will keep the information: 12 months.
